AVT Question: Please share your company's philosophy, vision, and product roadmap heading into InfoComm 2022. [June 2022]

Thought Leader: John Henkel, Director of SMB Product Marketing at NETGEAR

NETGEAR’s roadmap for the pro AV industry reflects our observations over the last few years. We have spoken to the industry and found out what is needed to accelerate the adoption of AV over IP, and are continuing to deliver products and services that clearly make a difference.

"We have spoken to the industry and found out what is needed to accelerate the adoption of AV over IP, and are continuing to deliver products and services that clearly make a difference." —John Henkel, Director of SMB Product Marketing at NETGEAR

Our award-winning M4250 series network switches pioneered a new way of configuration with the built-in AV GUI which has transformed the industry. Now, we are answering the call for a broader use of that AV GUI with the new NETGEAR Engage Controller. This free application for Mac, Windows, and Linux, builds on the groundbreaking configuration simplicity of the M4250 switches by adding the ability to discover, onboard, and manage M4300 switches as well.

Additionally, we heard loud and clear that people love the M4250 switches, but also wanted a smaller form factor. So, we are also announcing two new M4250 desktop models. While smaller, they still pack a lot of power. One model is fanless and has a 1-Gig uplink port, while the other model has adjustable fans and two 10-Gig uplink ports. Both models support PoE+ with up to 30 watts per port and either 110W or 220W PoE budget.

But we recognize that we need to provide more than just products; we are here to build a relationship. That’s why we also offer free network design services and troubleshooting for any pro AV install.

Finally, we understand the need for more education in the industry and have developed the free NETGEAR Academy to provide valuable instruction for people (and provide some AVIXA RU’s, too).
