The SDVoE Alliance has strongly emphasized high-performance AV that promotes sustainability. SDVoE is the only AV-over-IP ecosystem that is powered by ASIC devices instead of FPGAs. The most crucial difference between ASIC and FPGA is power consumption. An ASIC may consume up to 80 percent less power than an FPGA while performing the same job.
As hardware devices become more complex, they consume more power. Today’s high-quality video resolutions have requirements that can easily overwhelm a network. A traditional AV-over-IP system will compress the video to avoid overwhelming a network. There are a variety of compression techniques, but each of the methods is complex—and the complexity of compression results in increased power consumption. The SDVoE Alliance has created a solution for uncompression video transmission to create a sustainable, eco-friendly approach to AV.
Additionally, the SDVoE Alliance is poised to support a global customer base with a sustainable solution to meet growing supply chain demands amid ongoing supply chain disruptions. The SDVoE Alliance comprises over 50 members that are pushing the boundaries of innovation with new, problem-solving solutions designed to integrate seamlessly together. Together, the SDVoE’s members provide over 700 solutions designed to seamlessly and flexibly integrate to provide system integrators, designers, consultants, and installers with a reliable, sustainable solution.
