Russ Newton, head of strategic partnerships at AI-Media, recently spoke with AV Technology during the company’s debut appearance at InfoComm. Already having met with a great deal of success in broadcasting, Newton said he is excited to finally bring AI-Media’s LEXI Voice solution into the AV space.

Check out the full video interview below.

“What's interesting about the audio-visual world and being able to work with integrators and designers is the potential to bring forth a symmetrical experience of translation that's facilitated by audio-visual and leveraging AI,” Newton said. “As soon as you're able to grab that best-quality audio, it's basically an endless opportunity because that ensures the highest quality of accuracy.”

The LEXI Voice tool not only makes spaces accessible where there would otherwise be a language barrier, but now, a lower price point means the solution itself has become accessible to more venues than ever.

“The cost is no longer cost-prohibitive and can be automated in terms of delivering captions,” Newton said. “LEXI Voice is a game changer because it's no longer just something that brings forth accessibility, but it allows organizations to step into new markets, to expand their influence within their organizations. It brings cohesiveness more efficiently because we can take a single language in and translate to any of their desired languages, so people can participate.”

And finally, security is a perennial concern among organizations that rely on the cloud for handling sensitive information. Customers can rest assured that security is also top of mind for product developers at AI-Media.

“At the end of the day, our objective is to build feature parity between our on-premise and cloud offerings, including being able to bring forth secure cloud options—very specifically to address the concerns of security,” Newton said. “We already have successes with very well-known organizations that have the highest levels of security, where we've deployed captioning solutions to fulfill that with full on-premise logic, and so bringing in translation and voice is the next step.”
