WorldStage Provides Video Systems and Display Support for Wall Street Journal’s D.LIVE Laguna Digital Tech Conference

The Wall Street Journal recently held its biggest ever D.LIVE Laguna, the digital world’s exclusive, invitation-only international tech conference in Laguna Beach, California.  Once again WorldStage supported e2k Events x Entertainment with video systems and displays for the event.

 

D.LIVE was billed as assembling “technology’s most ambitious minds, on stage and on the record” for three days of provocative interviews and lively conversations.  Keynote speakers included Wall Street Journal’s Arianna Huffington, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Intel’s Brian Krzanich.

 

WorldStage provided video support in three key locations at The Montage resort: The Grand Ballroom, which hosted the main sessions; The Hub/D.LUXE Room; and the outdoor stage overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

 

In the Grand Ballroom a 60-foot wide, 11 foot tall concave Unilumin U3 LED wall from WorldStage served as the backdrop and scenic element for a roster of speakers and demos in the main sessions.  “The ground-supported wall installed easily and worked very well,” reports Steve Austin, Senior Account Manager at WorldStage.  “We also furnished three cameras on tripods and one robotic camera on truss to capture live feeds and demos as well as a Vista Spyder X20 switching system to control the LED wall.”

 

WorldStage also supplied equipment to The Hub, adjacent to the Grand Ballroom, which hosted overflow crowds for the first two days of the event.  On the last day of D.LIVE the space was transformed into D.LUXE, a special afternoon of programming that included a meeting with Cindy Crawford presented by WSJ Magazine.

 

WorldStage outfitted The Hub/D.LUXE with a 13-foot wide Unilumin UPAD III 2.6mm LED wall with a scenic surround in front, two cameras for live feeds and a full sound system. 

 

D.LIVE’s outdoor stage, which was used for oceanside dinners, a cocktail reception and awards program, featured three cameras from WorldStage.  WorldStage also provided monitors for the event’s Green Room and other locations.

 

In addition, WorldStage supplied D.LIVE’s edit suite with a dual Mac Pro Cylinder 4K computer package and ran the program feed via fiber to the suite so editors could record and edit activities happening in all three Montage resort venues.

 

The WorldStage Project Manager for D.LIVE was Kendrik Johnson, the Outdoor Project Manager was John Denion and the EIC was Frank Musgrove.
