NORTHRIDGE, California– HARMAN’s JBL Professional recently supported the Artists for Autism benefit in Tarzana, California, providing a VRX PA system for the day-long event. Held at live music venue Petie’s Place, the Artists for Autism event featured performances by Resurrect the Machine, Ronny North, the Back Beat Brawlers and Jeff Iftekaruddin. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Autism Speaks foundation.

The main PA system at the Artists for Autism benefit included four JBL VRX932LAP powered Constant Curvature loudspeakers and two VRX918SP powered subwoofers. Three PRX615 stage monitors and two EON10G2 portable PA loudspeakers rounded out the system. A variety of AKG microphones were used, along with a BSS Direct Box and a Soundcraft Si Compact 32 console at the front-of-house position.

Becki Barabas, Marketing Coordinator for JBL Professional, hosted the Artists for Autism event. “With the mistreatment of autistic children being such a widespread problem, I knew I had to do something,” she said. “Autistic children can’t always communicate to their parents what happens to them at school. I couldn’t think of a better way to help fight this problem than by gathering some excellent musicians and local artists together for a benefit.”

“We not only raised money but also raised awareness, which is equally important,” Barabas continued. “Music, art and helping kids—what could be better?”
