Digital Signage Expo Attendance Only Down Slightly

  • ATLANTA, GA—Digital Signage Expo 2009 (DSE), co-located with Interactive Technology Expo and the Out-of-Home Network show, was proclaimed “successful” by exhibitors. The conference and tradeshow, which ran last week, drew just over 3,000 attendees who had the opportunity to see a record-setting 188 exhibitors. The trade show floor was19 percent larger than 2008, with over 58,000 net square feet of exhibitions.
  • While attendance was down slightly from the 3,500 count a year ago, due to current economic conditions, DSE fared much better than other trade shows that have recently staged, an indication of the resilience of this new and emerging marketplace and the leadership position of the event itself.
  • Exhibitors reported that attendees were high quality decision-makers from a broad variety of end-user business categories, a profile that has become the hallmark of this leading international event since its inception in 2004. Comments included:
  • “Once again, DSE proves to be the No. 1 show in the digital signage industry providing a showcase for us to reach an array of different customers from a variety of vertical markets.” – Scott Koeller, EVP of sales and project management, Wireless Ronin Technologies.
  • “This year’s annual Digital Signage Expo was a huge success for LocaModa. It was a great show and we got a lot of value from exhibiting as well as participating in several of the conferences.” – Stephen Randall, CEO, LocaModa
  • “Digital Signage Expo 2009 was a great event for us overall. We began receiving orders immediately following the show.” – Miguel Meza, tradeshow manager, Premier Mounts.
  • “Attendee traffic both days was very good and the show was well attended by buyers who knew what they wanted. It translated into excellent sales leads.” – John Ochoa, director of business development, DT Research.
  • Chris Gibbs, president of Exponation, LLC, which produces Digital Signage Expo and its co-located shows said, “The increased number of exhibitors and our expanded conference program was a big draw for serious attendees. We hosted over 130 industry experts who presented more conference seminars, workshops and theater presentations than ever before. We understand that more and more people come to Digital Signage Expo to learn and to do business at the show.”
  • Looking forward, the East Coast regional version of DSE, DSE East will stage this September and will focus on east coast business opportunities including the highly concentrated government headquarters in Washington, D.C.
