ICIA/InfoComm and Koelnmesse Dissolve InfoComm Europe

The International Communications Industries Association and Koelnmesse have reached agreement to cancel the November 2003 InfoComm Europe trade show and to dissolve their partnership. The agreement moves forward the expiration date of the cooperation contract between ICIA and Koelnmesse, which was originally scheduled for 2004.

Bernd Aufderheide, executive vice president of Koelnmesse, said, "It was not easy for us to arrive at the decision to end our cooperation ahead of schedule. However, the differences between the two partners' goals made it impossible to create a joint concept for the event that would fulfill the requirements of the market. We are therefore going our separate ways by mutual consent, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank ICIA for our many years of cooperative partnership. Koelnmesse will, of course, continue to provide the international AV sector with an excellent business and communication platform."

"It is a tribute to our good working relationship with Koelnmesse over the years that we have arrived at this mutually acceptable agreement to discontinue InfoComm Europe this November," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., executive director of ICIA. "Koelnmesse has been a valued partner, and we wish them well in their future endeavors. With this agreement ICIA will soon announce the details of our 2004 trade fair in Europe."
