MediaTile Announces new Chairman of the Board

  • The MediaTile Company announced that the company has expanded its current round of funding led by GLR Growth Fund, LLC, the terms of which are undisclosed. Chris Luck, a Founding Principal of GLR, has been appointed Chairman by the Board of Directors of MediaTile. The company also announced that Simon Wilson, its CEO, has officially joined the Digital Signage Association as an advisory board member.
  • "As a long-standing board member of MediaTile, I am very excited about taking on the role of Chairman, and continuing to contribute to the overall success of the company," said Chris Luck, Chairman of MediaTile. "MediaTile's innovative leadership in 3G cellular deployments, combined with its recent joint announcement of the "HumanKiosk" with Alcatel-Lucent, positions the company to capitalize on the newest generation of cellular digital signage now that 4G communications infrastructure is being deployed. Our solution enhancements enabled by 4G technologies are increasingly attracting strategic and channel partners to MediaTile."
  • Simon Wilson, CEO and board member of MediaTile, has joined the Digital Signage Advisory Board in support of MediaTile's sponsorship of that organization. "With the economy turning around, the emergence of a new, high performance standard in 4G communications, and the recognized power of digital signage as an influential communications medium, I believe that 2010 will prove to be an inflection point for the digital signage industry," said Mr. Wilson.
  • Other members of MediaTile's senior management team include: Michael Foster, co-founder and SVP of Marketing and Products; Heather Whalen, VP North American Sales; and Roger Sanford, VP of MediaServices, and former founder and CEO of the digital advertising agency P3M. Together, the MediaTile management team, through its SaaS-based business model and partner-centric approach, is delivering digital signage solutions of exceptional business value and a higher return on message to customers like Rolls-Royce, Eli Lilly and Continental Airlines.
  • Keith Kelsen, founder of the company, recently stepped down as Chairman to create a new and independent organization, "The 5th Screen Project" that is currently operating in stealth mode. "The 5th Screen Project", and his soon-to-be-released book "Unleashing the Power of Digital Signage - Content Strategies for the 5th Screen", are expected to be announced concurrent with the Strategy Institute's 5th annual "Building Your Successful Digital Signage Business" in Chicago this week. Mr. Kelsen is chairing this 2 day conference for the second year in a row.
