Beijing Rings in the New Year with Adamson

BEIJING, CHINA--In preparation for hosting the 2008 Summer Olympics China has been cleaning up and modernizing its transit system in Beijing. January 8th was an important day for every member of the Beijing Traffic Police Force and their families, as it was the occasion for the amply titled The Award and Variety Show for Traffic Safety for the Chinese Olympic New Year.

The Awards were presented to those who made a valuable contribution to traffic management in the previous year. The function was organized by the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau and the China Central Television (CCTV) at the Beijing Workers Stadium, which is also scheduled to host the football quarter-finals and semi-finals during the up-coming Summer Olympics. The venue was at capacity with a crowd of 6000 which included the management team of the Beijing government, and the Ministry of Public Security.

New Adamson partner Hunan Tian Yin Art Performance Company provided the Adamson system for the show. Companys head engineer Mi Ning was the FOH engineer for the event. The main flown system comprised of eight Y18s per side. Two ground stacks consisting of six Spektrix and two Spektrix Subs on each side of the stage were used as side fills for the lateral seating areas. All Adamson speakers were powered with eight Lab.gruppen fP10000qs, two Lab.gruppen fP3400 and six Lab.gruppen fp6400 amps. Processing was handled by Dolby Lake controllers.

The show was nationally broadcast on the CCTV (China Central Television) program Happy in China on the Eve of the Chinese New Year.
