New Wire Products 2006
  • MultiDyne has released its TAC-2000 Series tactical military fiber optic cable and spool assemblies. A custom military grade, the TAC-2000 tactical fiber optic cable assemblies have up to 12 fibers. Standard lengths include 500, 1000, and 2000 feet. Custom lengths are also available. The cables are crush-resistant and resilient with a thick layer of Aramid Strength Members. They are polyurethane jacketed for abrasion, cut and chemical resistance and are re-enforced with Kevlar jacket, strong enough to withstand the weight of a truck.

Communications Specialties (CSI) is now shipping the new RoHS compliant Pure Digital Fiberlink 7220 Series all-digital fiber optic system. The 7220 Series is the first fiber optic link to digitally transmit high-resolution RGB (up to WXGA) and stereo audio over one single mode or multimode fiber optic core. Priced to compete with twisted pair solutions, this fiber optic system is designed to make it easier than ever to transmit high-res signals without compression or scaling.

The 7220 Series uses all digital processing and transmission to deliver crystal clear video and high fidelity audio with no signal degradation over the entire transmission path. It requires no adjustments, equalization or de-skewing. Signals are transmitted over one single mode or multimode fiber optic core at 1310 nm wavelength. Box and card units also sold separately.

WireWorks' AES/EBU Cabling Assemblies

Wireworks released its latest AES/EBU direct cabling assemblies. Constructed from the durable components currently available, Wireworks AES/EBU Direct Interconnect Cables provide the ruggedness and flexibility crucial to serious audio professionals. Available in 10- and 15-foot versions--with a wide variety of XLR connector combinations, including all male, all female, mixed genders or TRS connectors--Wireworks Direct Cabling Assemblies include tails/tails, DB25 analog or digital fanouts, and DB25 trunks supporting either analog or digital wiring standards.
Wireworks Direct Cabling Assemblies feature Neutrik Black/Gold XLRs, TRS, and DB25 connectors with heavy-duty metal bodies, captive thumbscrews and gold contacts. Wireworks DB25 Trunks are available in five convenient lengths: 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 feet with other lengths to order.

Liberty's QuickLinx

Liberty Wire & Cable's new QuickLinx Mini RGBHV cables feature efficient solid-center conductors. The new ConnecTec products allow use of a single-piece connector instead of the multiple pieces needed for stranded-center cable. Designed to simplify installations and improve performance, they also promise installers savings in both time and expense, while adding to Liberty's already unmatched array of connectivity solutions. The new QuickLinx Mini RGBHV cables are equipped with solid-center conductors, and are available in 25 and 23 AWG versions. The solid conductor construction provides better performance in signal distance and frequency response than the typical stranded-center conductor cables now available in the market. The solid-center 25 AWG cable is designed for longer RGBHV cable runs. The solid-center 23 AWG RGBHV cable is swept to 3 GHz, and perfect for short runs and HD applications.

Gepco's RGB Hybrid Component Series

Gepco released the RGB62 and RGB644 Series of hybrid component video cables. A hybrid construction with audio pairs and/or power conductors, the RGB62 and RGB644 series were designed for commercial AV applications that require the distribution of high-resolution component video with audio and power. The RGB62 series contains six miniature coaxial elements with two balanced audio pairs, while the RGB644 series contains six miniature coaxial elements with four balanced audio pairs and four power conductors. Both series are available in plenum and non-plenum versions.

The coaxial elements feature a precision diameter conductor, low-loss gas-injected dielectric, and dual foil and braid shield. This construction achieves exceptional electrical performance and consistent connector termination. The audio elements in the RGB62 and RGB44 cables feature a shielded and balanced design for improved RF/EMI and CMNR noise rejection. The power conductors are constructed from low-loss 20 gauge copper.

Hall Research's EX-HDMI-2A

This HDMI Extender is a digital signal booster that corrects the signal degradation that occurs in long HDMI cables over 100 feet. It is designed for extending an HDMI display away from the signal source. The compact dual featured unit compensates for the losses of the LVDS signal on its input and has a switchable boosted video output that can drive quality HDMI copper cables up to 130 feet at 1080p or 1920 x 1200 resolutions. It provides up to 2.5 times gain on input to compensate for long HDMI cable loss and can extend cables to 130 feet (up to 65 feet each side). They maintain high HDMI link with video resolution up to UXGA/1080p. The EX-HDMI-2A is HDCP compliant plug and play, easy to install, and can be powered directly from the video source.

Pulizzi's Power Cables

Pulizzi has released a complete line of power cables and cable accessories. The power cables are available in a variety of plug types and lengths. There are over 30 stock versions, including NEMA 5-15P to IEC C19, NEMA L6-20P to IEC C19, and European Shucko to IEC C19 cord sets. Standard configurations include 120 volt, 208 volt, and 230 volt, available in both 15 amp and 20 amp current ratings. Plug options include both straight blade or twist lock connector types. The standard cable length starts at 8 feet, with cables up to 15 feet available. For international installation, there are a variety of country specific plug types available.

In addition to the input power cords; there are also C13 to C14 jumper cables available in a variety of lengths, allowing for easy cable routing and reduces extra cable clutter. These jumper cables allow computers and network equipment to be powered at 208 volts, reducing current demand and increasing installation density.
