PLDT Launches Digital Signage Network Solution

Publish date:

The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has ventured into a new service: an end-to-end fully-managed digital signage network.

Called PLDT Sweetspots, the product provides management services for remote content uploading and updating, customer touch points’ content receivers, and industrial-grade flat TV screens. The service is powered by the PLDT Group’s fixed and wireless broadband connectivity solutions, enabling digital content to be uploaded and updated practically anywhere in the country.

PLDT Sweetspots is designed primarily for companies with their own branches and distribution channels.

“While tri-media advertising is used for mass awareness-building, PLDT Sweetspots is ideal for sustaining efforts and targeted messages in distribution channels. It will certainly complement clients’ advertising in a strategic way because it involves point-of-decision marketing that builds the psychological ‘last-ten-feet’ for consumers to purchase products,” Corporate Business Group head Nerissa Ramos said.

Unlike traditional static signs, content can be changed dynamically, animations can be displayed, and messages can interactively adapt to the context and to the target audience.

“In more advanced markets such as the US, digital signages, linked and remotely controlled, have been proven to be quite effective in communicating advertising messages. And we see them in many establishments. Now PLDT has made it easier for the local companies to take advantage of this non-traditional advertising tool,” PLDT customer sales and marketing group head Eric Alberto said.

PLDT Sweetspots come in two packages: Sweetspots LITE and Sweetspots PRO. Sweetspots LITE offers pre-set display screen templates, and allows one to upload new content up to four times a month. Sweetspots PRO, on the other hand, gives an option to upload new advertising information up to 12 times a month, with a free form canvas for flexible and more creative content creation.

PLDT Sweetspots’ subscription-based offerings allow companies to save on large upfront capital expenditures while enjoying the business benefits of a digital signage network solution at affordable monthly fees.
