- NASHVILLE, TN--Sun Resorts’ most recent Virgin Holiday award recipient, the Sugar Beach Hotel, now proudly features One Systems direct weather, high fidelity loudspeakers. Sun Resorts operates a number of specialized luxury venues in the Western Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius and Maldives, with their newest Mauritius destination, Long Beach Resort, set to open in December 2010.
- “For Sugar Beach Resort’s ocean-side restaurant, Tides, we supplied One Systems 106IM weatherproof speakers. Speakers are strategically placed throughout the restaurant and mounted on palm trees surrounding the beach front dining area,” explains Grant Scott, head systems engineer, at One Systems’ South African based distribution firm Prosound (Pty) Ltd. “We needed the best quality sound in a compact and lasting loudspeaker system. With One Systems’ patented technology, three-layer stainless steel rain shield grille, and unique vent design for moisture drainage, they were a perfect fit. Speakers installed in this environment are exposed to rain, sun and sea breeze, and in previous experiences with other manufacturers, most speaker systems do not hold up under these conditions. These speakers are also ideally-suited to the humid beach conditions at the Sugar Beach Hotel.”
- The volcanic island of Mauritius is located off the southeast coast of South Africa, nearly 700 miles east of Madagascar, and home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Set amongst the natural beauty of a spectacular 30-acre island resort, guests to Tides can enjoy ocean views and topical gardens while dining for lunch or dinner. One Systems speakers will offer music and hotel announcements to guests during the restaurants normal operating hours.
- Rentacolor Mauritius LTD, a Prosound (Pty) Ltd partner led by, Dominique Hardy, installed the speakers. Using One Systems U-Brackets and large pipe clamps, Rentacolor was able to secure the speakers to the atypical palm tree fixtures. The remaining speakers are mounted atop the bar area and strategically placed on the deck in the dining area. This particular placement allows for maximum output and throw without cluttering the dining area. “Sun Resorts, LTD and the Sugar Beach Hotel are very happy with both the performance and the look of the units. One Systems does not disappoint,” says Scott.
