Symon Communications, Inc., a provider of performance communication and digital signage solutions, has announced the release of a new Symon Digital Appliance (SDA) product line. The SDA is a series of advanced network-manageable products that combine Symon's expertise in real-time data collection and visual display technology. The network appliance maximizes the efficiency and flexibility of delivering broadcast and digital signage content to televisions and flat panel displays, while minimizing costs.
"Our successful launch of the SDA series more than a year ago was met with overwhelming industry and customer acceptance as evidenced in the many new SDA clients and numerous industry awards we received," said Charles Ansley, Symon Communications president and CEO. "Our expectations are even higher for the new SDA series because of the model choices and options that we have made available for every type of broadcast need. One of the many SDA benefits is the combining of several professional broadcast features into a single appliance."
The SDA model line-up is delivered in a new form factor with features that will benefit users with advanced security permissions and vivid and dynamic screen presentations, including high-definition (HD) output. Enhanced Web based administration, 2-D and 3-D cinematic transitions, watermarks, and event logging is available. There is optional proof of play reporting and wireless features.
The high end SDA-600S has an industrial-strength platform for streaming live video content over the Internet. It securely delivers content created by Symon software to PC clients for enterprise applications such as broadcast communications, e-Learning and informational programs.
The SDA series conforms to open standards and supports a wide variety of plasma displays, LCDs and projectors integrated within a multi-vendor networking environment. It provides an array of standard screen resolutions, including native support for widescreen (16:9) and standard (4:3) aspect ratios, and the ability to display content in landscape and portrait modes. Other new models like the SDA-300 and SDA-600 provide native digital output (DVI), delivering the highest possible image quality for modern high definition flat panel displays.
All SDAs receive digital media from the powerful Symon Enterprise Server (SES) data management software platform via an Ethernet connection. SDAs and SES operate in a client-server mode, where the SDA requests menus and media from the SES, and the SES satisfies those requests.
Fully compatible with the current SDA-500 series, the new model line-up is now available and broadcasts digital signage to a wide array of applications including, but not limited to: retail, corporate employee communications, hospitality, entertainment, gaming, transportation, educational and financial institutions, manufacturing, and contact centers.
