Industry veteran Jeff Lovins has announced the launch of AV Rental & Staging Network, Inc. (AVSN). The companys strategy is to drive incremental revenue to its staging company affiliates via outside sales representatives located throughout the country. According to Lovins, president of the new venture, This is not your every day lead referral program. Todays rental and staging suppliers face many challenges, including pressure to bring in new revenue despite tighter budgets, increased competition, and smaller profit margins. Yet, meeting and event planners have higher expectations but no time to carefully think through their A.V. needs, much less find adequate staging suppliers. Our mission is to serve a niche where the needs of A.V. suppliers and meeting planners intersect.
According to Lovins, the program isnt for everyone. Our goal is to help strong, independent regional A.V. suppliers who have turn-key capabilities in sound, video production, projection and lighting get more business, he says.
Theres not a whole lot we can do for AV companies that are primarily in-house at hotels, or the large national AV chains because theyre already getting sales support from other departments and national offices. Our business model is designed purely to extend the reach of quality suppliers who have a limited number of sales people and outer offices.
A total of eight major, nationally prominent staging companies have affiliated with AVSN so far, covering 45% of the United States. According to Lovins, These suppliers represent some of the best in the business and were proud to be associated with them. Its a terrific portfolio of companies for our reps to sell and meeting planners will know their events are in good hands.
