Hollywood Post Alliance and United Entertainment Media Launch DisplayLA Conference & Showcase

  • Los Angeles--The Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) and United Entertainment Media--publisher of Videography, Digital Cinema, Systems Contractor News, and Rental & Staging Systems magazines--recently announced the launch of the DisplayLA Conference and Technology Showcase, the first Los Angeles-based event exclusively devoted to introducing the latest display technologies to the creative production community.
  • DisplayLA will be held July 17-18, 2003 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
  • "Today's revolution in display technologies has created an unprecedented demand for practical technology information within the creative community," said HPA President Leon Silverman. "Directors, cinematographers, producers, editors, special effects artists and others within our industry need to understand the impact of display technology on their creative work. With the recent advances and options in display, it becomes increasingly important to look at and present images in the best possible way."
  • In addition to HPA, the event has been endorsed and sponsored by the International Communications Industries Association (ICIA). All the latest display technologies--from LCD and plasma to digital cinema and HD--will be discussed and demonstrated during the two-day event, including the latest advancements in screening room design, on-location video, digital dailies and even advanced home theater presentations.
  • "This unique partnership between our publications and HPA will deliver the type of expert conference program that is required to create a link between those who are creating today's programming and those who are developing the instruments for monitoring them in the studio and in the home," explained Martin Porter, UEM's publishing director. "DisplayLA is a unique event that truly could drive forward a new level of communication between the Hollywood community and those companies that are innovating the future of television."
  • In addition to a dual-track technology conference that is directed and developed by the Hollywood Post Alliance, the showcase will also provide technology demonstrations by leading manufacturers in adjacent demo rooms and exhibition suites. The combination will provide an extremely high-level, one-on-one opportunity to creatives to view the latest technologies and for technology companies to gain input from the world's most discriminating viewers.
