Digital Signage Expo/East

Following on the heels of Digital Signage Expo's February show in Las Vegas that drew over 3,400 attendees – a 70-percent increase over the May '07 – show producers ExpoNation have announced an eastern-regional traveling show that will debut in Philadelphia on September 17-18, 2008.

  • "Technology changes and evolves quickly with new products entering the digital market more frequently than other industries," says Chris Gibbs, executive vice president of ExpoNation, LLC, which produces Digital Signage Expo. "So we feel there is a real need to offer more than one event a year and do it in a way that is more accessible to everyone to allow them to keep up and remain cutting edge."

Digital Signage Expo/East and Interactive Technology Expo/East will be co-located at the PennsylvaniaConvention Center.

The announcement of the new event is a response to the success of the Digital Signage Expo's February show. Booth traffic was up at that show considerably, as Scala's Richard Trask, director of public relations observed, commenting, "The first day we got double the booth traffic that we've gotten at this or at any other show." But exhibitors were also ebullient about the amount of qualified leads that were generated at the show and the number of quote requests for near-term orders.

Attendees admitted flying into Las Vegas specifically to identify vendors, reported handing out formal RFP's, and many exhibitors had to overnight additional materials to meet attendee demand on day two.

Chris Gibbs remains enthusiastic about the growth of the industry, saying, "Not only did the expanded Pre-Conference Live Installation Tour sell out, but exhibitors are so pleased with attendee response that they have already reserved more floor space for the February 25-26, '09 Las Vegas show, which we expect will be 56-percent larger." He added, "We had a dozen new companies sign up for next year right on the floor."
