Minicom in 300 Wal-Mart Mexico Locations

  • Minicom Advanced Systems Ltd. has announced that its VDS player-to-screen multimedia distribution system has been installed as part of a digital signage network for 300 Wal-Mart de Mexico department stores. The new system featuring dynamic in-store advertising will be viewed by 50 million shoppers every month.
  • The joint project combines the multimedia content of Grupo Televisa- the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world; Wal-Mart de Mexico; and Minicom's CAT5 Video Display System (VDS) for player-to-screen content distribution.
  • "Delivering high quality multimedia content over long distances to multiple screens is the litmus test of any successful dynamic display network. The VDS system gives you the ability to display your multimedia content where you want and how you want, without compromising the quality of the end image," said Saul Mishaan, President of Minicom for North America.
  • According to Axel Vera, Digital POP Operations Director at Televisa, "The VDS distribution system allowed us to set up screens with enough range to cover all of the strategic locations in the Wal-Mart de Mexico stores, while delivering multimedia content flawlessly. Products advertised on the new digital signage display network have already experienced a significant boost in brand awareness in addition to increased sales revenue."
