Duke University Medical Center Uses VP70 XD Industrial Media Player by Videotel Digital for the Reliable Distribution of Patient Information

Publish date:

Videotel moves toward being a frontrunner in the medical industry for equipment that assures the communication of patient information in a reliable manner. The San Diego-based company was recently noted by the highly-recognizable Duke University Medical Center for their outstanding product, the VP70 XD Industrial Digital Signage Media Player. Used to auto loop video, audio, images, and photos, the VP70XD is now a necessity for the ongoing education of patients at the iconic hospital. A hospital recognized in TIME magazine and U.S. News & World Report as one of the greatest healthcare providers in the world.

Denny Temple, Senior Electronics Tech at Duke University Medical Center said, "We are using the media player to play patient education for our patients thru our CATV system. The players work great. We feed the information to a modulator for a TV channel so the patients can see it on the hospital TVS. We just connect it up and place what media we need on the card and place it on the TV channel we need for patient education. We have used your DVD players also, but this media player works very well for this application."

Helping to assure the information of patients in Duke University Medical Center’s nearly 1,000-bed facility, the VP70xd can seamlessly auto loop a mix of file types while incorporating audio files as background sound. This sufficiently eliminates the need for additional equipment like an audio extractor. The industrial media player will also allow for various slideshow transitions for multiple effects to keep an audience interested in the content being played.
