RICHARDSON, TX--AMX announced today that it has acquired ProCon Technology, a UK-based manufacturer of AV switching and control equipment. With this acquisition, AMX's product portfolio will include a new line up of configurable control keypad systems, switchers and distribution amplifiers specifically designed to simplify the way people interact with, and use, AV equipment in simpler, single-room environments.
Founded in 1989 in Hemel Hempstead, England, ProCon has focused exclusively on developing simple, cost-effective solutions for classrooms, conference rooms and other small-rooms with limited AV control and distribution needs. The company's product portfolio includes combined keypad and controller systems, presentation and matrix switchers, and distribution amplifiers.
"ProCon products have primarily been sold in the UK; however, as part of AMX, our solutions will become part of a worldwide sales and distribution network, expanding our market opportunity exponentially," said Chris Kendall, ProCon's managing director. "We are very excited to be part of the AMX family and look forward to working with the rest of AMX to develop future solutions that will further expand the capabilities of our products."
