Shure Seizes Counterfeit Microphones In China

  • NILES, IL-Earlier this year, Shure Incorporated worked closely with China Customs to seize a large quantity of counterfeit Shure microphones, which were destined for Indonesia.
  • The shipment, detained by Huangpu Customs in Guangdong Province, also included counterfeit Sony, Hitachi, and Pioneer products, and the swift action by Shure prevented counterfeit Shure products from leaving Chinese ports.
  • The investigation by Shure revealed that this large shipment of counterfeit microphones was being exported by the Shen Qiao Xing Trading Company, which is based in Shenzhen City. Subsequently, Shure filed a civil complaint for trademark infringement in the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court against the exporter and the judgment is pending.
