- Closely following the release of the MICA compact high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker, Meyer Sound is launching the 600-HP compact high-power subwoofer. Bringing the power of the acclaimed 700-HP ultrahigh-power subwoofer to a package ideal for rigging with MICA, the self-powered 600-HP excels in flown applications using its optional QuickFly rigging in situations where the extra low-frequency extension of the 700-HP is not required, or where space is a consideration.
- In addition to being the ideal partner in a flown MICA array, the 600-HP's operating frequency range of 33 Hz to 150 Hz provides an appropriate complement to other Meyer Sound self-powered products such as the UPA-1P compact wide coverage or UPJ-1P compact VariO loudspeakers.
- The 600-HP's power and bandwidth handle high continuous operating levels and extreme transient information with minimal distortion in its operating frequency range.
- Meyer Sound's rigorous design approach has been applied to extract the greatest efficiency from every part of the system, resulting in the 600-HP's effortless reproduction of low frequency transient information. As a self-powered system, the transducers, amplification and control electronics of the 600-HP are created as a symbiotic system that optimizes performance and maximizes its tremendous power.
- The 600-HP's efficiently tuned cabinet houses two newly-designed , back-vented, long-excursion, 15-inch cone drivers, manufactured by Meyer Sound. The drivers have been engineered for extreme efficiency at low frequencies in order to provide optimal performance in subwoofer applications. Each driver features a four-inch voice coil and is rated to handle 1,200 AES watts.
- An integral two-channel class AB/H amplifier with complementary MOSFET output stages supplies total power of 2,250 watts (4,000 watts peak). The amplifier, control electronics and power supply are integrated into a single, field-replaceable module mounted in the rear of the cabinet. The cabinet is constructed of multi-ply hardwood and coated with a textured black finish. Integral metal grilles lined with acoustical black mesh protect the cone drivers.
