DIGI Awards Open for Entries

I am honored again this year, to be the Chair of the Judges Panel for the DIGI Awards, and I am happy to announce that Digital Signage Magazine together with The Digital Signage Group is now accepting entries for the 2009 DIGI Awards. Enter at www.digitalsignagedirectory.com
The winners will be announced at a ceremony during the fall Digital Signage Show in New York City at Javits Convention Center, November 10-11, 2009.

The DIGI Awards is the only industry award program that recognizes the outstanding integrators, content providers and new this year– product manufacturers– focusing on digital signage. In both my capacity as Chair of the Judges Committee of the DIGI Awards, and as Executive Editor of Digital Signage magazine, I’ve seen this industry grow exponentially in just a relatively short number of years. Last year’s DIGI entries reflected that growth, with a record number of entries, and this year will be even better.

For this year’s DIGI Awards, there are 8 DIGI Award categories for best digital signage installations, recognizing every market from retail, to transportation, entertainment, wayfinding, and interactive. Added this year is a new category for Mobile phone/digital signage integration. Also new this year, we’ve added a new “Best new Technology Innovation for Digital Signage” category (product awards), with five awards to be given for Best New-Generation Display Device, Large Screen (non-LCD or Plasma); Best Display Device, Small Screen (less than 20 inches); Best Content Management Software/Web-based; Best Content Management Software/Premise-based. In the categories of new product, the product must have been launched after November 2008 through 2009.

The winners will be announced at a reception during the fall Digital Signage Show in New York City at Javits Convention Center, November 10-11, 2009. Additionally, winners will be invited to participate in a round table to discuss their winning deployment, content, product, etc. Winners receive a trophy recognizing their achievement as well as a graphic suitable for use in promotional materials. All partners, including those involved in the software, content, fixture and hardware of the winning installations, will receive a certificate to recognize their contribution. Winning entries will also be featured in Digital Signage Magazine and on the www.digitalsignageweekly.com portal.
