AFMG Announces 10th Free Upgrade to EASE and EASE JR Software Packages

  • FOORHILL RANCH, CA-–For the 10th time in the past six years, EASE and EASE JR licensees will receive a major upgrade at no charge. Version 4.3 of both industry-standard modeling software suites will be previewed during the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco, October 3 – 5.
  • Renkus-Heinz, worldwide distributor of EASE, EASE JR and EASERA, and Ahnert Feistel Media Group (AFMG), the developer of these and other programs for sound system designers and manufacturers, will demonstrate the latest enhancements to the programs. The new versions will be released later in the fourth quarter of 2008.

“We are continually working to maintain EASE and EASE JR on the leading edge of speed, compatibility and functionality,” says Stefan Feistel of AFMG.“Version 4.3 includes significant enhancements to drawing import functions, mapping and room acoustics. With our lifetime licensing policy, current users will be able to download and install the upgrade at no charge.”

The EASE 4.3 Import module will offer full support for drawing files from Google Sketchup and from all current versions of AutoCAD. Users will now be able to handle mapping files more easily and to map direct sound in dBA, in addition to the many other sound system performance parameters already available. STI ratings will now be available in EASE Jr also. This will allow EASE JR users to generate proposals for life safety and audio evacuation systems and other projects that require STI projections.

Version 3.0 of the powerful AURA module, which calculates all the acoustical parameters defined in ISO 3382, will also be part of the new release. The AURA calculation engine has been rewritten with multi-core support, enabling it to run up to 10 times faster on quad-core machines. In addition, SpeakerLab 1.1 will be released as part of the upgrade. It includes extensions to the GLL format, such as user-definable loudspeaker clusters and filter settings, as well as various new graphs and display options.
