Polycom has introduced a version of its desktop telepresence application for Mac OS X, claiming it offers "seamless interoperability" for videoconferencing with its existing Polycom Windows application and with the two million standards-based videoconferencing systems in use today.
- The application, Polycom CMA Desktop, works with the Polycom Converged Management Application (CMA).
Polycom claims that integrating the server-based software for video network management: "gives IT administrators unprecedented provisioning, management, and reporting capabilities for successfully deploying desktop video across organizations."
The Polycom CMA Desktop for Mac OS X is planned for global availability in April 2010.
CurrentPolycom CMA customers with service contracts will be able to download and use the Mac application for no extra fee.
