TANDBERG's Content Server Enables Easy Sharing of Video with Mac OS X

NEW YORK AND OSLO, NORWAY-- TANDBERG announced a new version of its Content Server that enables easy sharing of video through Apple's iTunes U and integrates with Podcast Producer -- a feature of Mac OS X Server -- allowing users to send recorded video content for further editing, publishing and distribution to any blog or Apple device with just one click.

Now, anyone using a standards-compliant video conferencing endpoint to record content, such as an educational lecture or a training seminar, can seamlessly convert the recording into a format compatible with iTunes for automatic upload to iTunes U; instantly making it available for viewing and sharing.

"With video, a classroom is no longer defined by walls and desks," said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO. "The TANDBERG Content Server's interoperability with Apple's iTunes U and Podcast Producer enables educators and students to instantly post, access and share lectures, ideas and experiences via video, expanding the world of learning to anywhere."

  • "Podcast Producer, a feature of our Mac OS X Server, is the ideal way to automatically produce and publish podcasts to iTunes or a blog," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "We're pleased that TANDBERG is offering an application that furthers the reach of iTunes U and brings more rich educational video content to students around the world."
