Earn Double the Credit with NSCA's College of Technical Knowledge

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA--New this year, NSCA certificate holders can earn double the Learning Units (LUs) needed for renewal when signing up for NSCA University classes during InfoComm 09. Any classes taken in the College of Technical Knowledge will be eligible for the double LUs. The LU values will be sent to students at the conclusion of InfoComm 09.

Certificates holders need 8 LUs to renew their certificate. Exclusive to InfoComm 09, you can acquire NSCA’s Certificate of Completion Program (CCP) in its entirety.

• Understanding Line Arrays: Separating Reality from Marketing Hype, Proper Application and Tuning
Discuss the mathematic fundamentals behind how line arrays work, the high-frequency isophasic aperture found in all non-steerable line-array products, and the compromises made in the application of theory. A live presentation will demonstrate the equalization of line arrays and the technology used to beam-steer today's steerable line-array products.

• Using Cat-5, 5e, 6 for Audio and Video Application
Discuss category cable use, balanced lines and how they reject noise and crosstalk. Examine RGB, VGA, SVGA, XGA, QXGQ and other signals. Plus, learn how far you can go in different variations of coax and twisted pair cables, relationship to screen resolution and pixel size, and calculating these distances.

• SMAART Fundamentals
This course covers the fundamentals of setting up a SMAART measurement rig and using SMAART to make basic spectrum, transfer function and impulse response measurements. Special attention is given to making valid and useful measurements. Designed for all interested audio system professionals.

• Networking Issues that Impact AV Integrators and Designers
The AV world is rapidly merging with the networking world. To succeed in this "new world order," AV integrators and designers must gain a working understanding of the network protocols and topologies with which they will be interfacing. This hands-on workshop will teach essential networking skills.

• Audio Systems: Concepts, Tips, Techniques and Troubleshooting
Proper setup and calibration of sound systems during design and commissioning can help prevent common problems in the electronic signal chain and with loudspeakers. Review basic concepts to avoid, diagnose and solve problems. See examples of simple sound system design equations plus demonstrations of equipment and problems you may encounter.
