Entries Arriving for BlueMaxx Awards

  • By David Keene

With all the news and excitement coming out of Las Vegas, from the InfoComm show, the news got kind of buried: the submission deadline for the inaugural BlueMaxx Award has been extended until September 14, 2010. Plenty of time to get your entries in before summer's end.

The BlueMaxx Award, sponsored by STRATACACHE, and to be judged by three of the top journalist/analysts in the industry, was introduced this year to recognize and honor the most successful development around technologies and applications enabling interactivity between digital signage and mobile, handheld devices.

Organizations specializing in or effectively using mobile interactive applications are invited to submit nominations now through September 14th at www.bluemaxxaward.com.

Key criteria for the BlueMaxx Award:

Digital signage projects that include mobile handset applications that positively affect the customer experience, sales, human resources, and/or training and development;

Digital signage projects that use mobile technologies to measure the level and effectiveness of consumer and end-user interactions.

Valid entries cannot be standalone mobile or mobile/online programs, and must interrelate with a digital signage application or similar media interface (such as a kiosk). The application must leverage some sort of communication that directly ties a relationship between the small screens of mobile devices and the larger screens of the digital signage application.

Judges include myself– David Keene (Digital Signage Weekly), Adrian Cotterill (DailyDOOH) and Dave Haynes (The Preset Group).

The winner will be announced during a ceremony at Customer Engagement Technology World (CETW), November 10-11, 2010 at the Javits Center in New York City. The winner will be highlighted at CETW, promoted and recognized via industry-wide media outlets, and presented with an award suited for display.

The BlueMaxx Award was originally targeted for an announcement coinciding with the upcoming InfoComm trade show in Las Vegas.

"While several entries have been received, STRATACACHE wanted to ensure that all potential candidates were aware of the BlueMaxx Award, and felt this was far more important than meeting an initial deadline," says Paula Polei, Director of Marketing at STRATACACHE.
