Sharp LCD-LED Backlit

Sharp introduces its first Professional LCD Monitor with LED backlighting, designed specifically for video wall applications. With a slim profile and energy savings, the new 60-inch class (60” diagonal) PN-V601 offers the world’s slimmest bezel* available in a professional LCD display and can be used in a variety of signage and commercial display applications, in both landscape and portrait mode. The monitor is designed to fulfill a wide range of customer applications, with an optional expansion board that expands the available input and output terminals. Additionally, the monitor employs a full-array LED backlight system, resulting in more uniform colors and brightness across the entire screen.

“As digital signage and display applications continue to evolve, customers are looking for more energy-efficient products and thinner bezel designs that enable nearly seamless images to be displayed in large video wall configurations,” said Ed McLaughlin, president, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “The introduction of this ultra-slim bezel, LED-backlit LCD monitor rounds out our comprehensive line of professional displays and offers superior image quality and improved compatibility to serve the needs of the commercial market. The large 60-inch class monitor allows larger size video walls to be created utilizing fewer LCD panels, resulting in increased energy efficiency and lower operating costs.”

  • Video Walls
  • The PN-V601 offers several features that are ideal for video wall applications. With the 60-inch screen size, a large wall can be created with fewer monitors. The PN-V601 enables a 13’ x 7’ video wall to be accomplished with the use of just nine monitors, while it would require sixteen 46-inch competitive monitors to produce the same 100 square foot video wall. This leads to a reduction in installation costs as well as power savings. Additionally, with an ultra-slim bezel that measures just over 1/8th of an inch (4.1mm) at the top and 1/11th of an inch (2.4mm) at the bottom of the panel, the majority of the surface area of the video wall would be made up of the actual screen since the seam area between monitors is less obtrusive.

The monitor offers an optional input/output interface expansion board (model PN-ZB02), which expands the available input/output terminals. The PN-ZB02 also permits DVI Daisy Chaining to link to five displays for easy and effective video walls, aided by the monitors’ thin-bezel design. A built-in enlargement function allows a user to create up to 5x5 video walls from a PC and the monitors can all be controlled from one remote for seamless, uninterrupted operation. Additionally, this HD monitor offers reliable 24/7 use and is designed for both landscape and portrait operation. It provides accurate and precise image reproduction as well as a high brightness, full array LED backlight of 700 cd/m2 for a bright picture in virtually any lighting condition.

The PN-V601 has a full complement of input and output connectors to display all types of content, including an HDMI® input, PC input, stereo audio input and an RS-232C input that allows the monitor to be controlled, monitored and have diagnostics performed from a central location. The optional PN-ZB02 expansion board adds DVI-D input/output, Component video BNC input, BNC composite video input, S-Video input, two additional stereo audio inputs, stereo speaker outputs (10W x 2), and a RJ-45 LAN control port

The PN-V601 Monitor is supported with a three-year on-site parts and labor limited warranty, including three-year warranty on the backlight when used in portrait mode.
