2008.5 DIGI Awards Honor Digital Signage Excellence

New York, October 15, 2008 -- The DIGI Awards, the industry’s preeminent Awards program recognizing the most successful and innovative new content, products, and applications in the digital signage industry, recognized this year’s winning entries during a special ceremony Thursday, October 15 in New York. Held at New York’s Jacob K. Javit’s Convention Center during The Digital Signage Show and KioskCom Self Service Expo, the fourth annual DIGI Awards ceremony presented 17 trophies to teams responsible for outstanding digital signage deployments between 2007 and August 2008. And for the fist time, the Best New Products in several key digital signage categories were recognized.

Judges for the event were Alan Brawn, Principal, Brawn Consulting; Lyle Bunn, Principal, Lyle Bunn Consulting; David Keene, Executive Editor of Digital Signage Magazine and the DIGI Awards Chairman. The Digital Signage Group is the co-sponsor of the DIGI Awards.

“As we moved the venue for the Awards presentation from a spring timeframe to October, the move to The Digital Signage Show in New York worked out quite well,” commented David Keene, Executive Editor of Digital Signage Magazine and the DIGI Awards Chairman. “Judging by the increased number of entries, including many from around the world, and the quality of those entries, the digital signage industry continues to ramp up to meet rapidly growing demand. So were pleased to once again be the publishing partner and Producer for these important Awards, which offer a roadmap of where we’re heading in terms of tech trends, marketing models, and end user expectations for Digital Signage. So the ‘2008.5’ Awards were a resounding success… and next year, we will, of course, go back to one Awards program per year, each autumn.”

Recipients of the 2008.5 DIGI Awards included those integrators, service providers and resellers who not only met but also exceeded the expectations of clients and peers alike.
