Universal Remote Control Enters Commercial Market at InfoComm 09

  • Universal Remote Control (URC) will mark its official entry into the commercial marketplace at the most appropriate venue possible: InfoComm 09, the world’s largest and most comprehensive pro-A/V event. URC will launch its new commercial offerings and initiatives for attendees and press at Booth 3506 during InfoComm 09, to be held from June 17 to 19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
  • Over its nearly two decades in business, URC has provided tens of millions of remote controls to consumers, residential custom installers and subscription cable customers, as well as consumer electronics manufacturers through its substantial OEM business. URC’s proven technology and design, much celebrated in all of those industries, has resulted in a very loyal dealer base and an outstanding reputation for innovation, education and support.
  • URC is well aware that it isn’t the first control manufacturer to address the commercial space. With this in mind, it is addressing the marketplace with a solution-focused approach that is designed to address various installation scenarios in relatively inexpensive and more easily programmable ways than current solutions do.
  • With its new offerings, URC will speak directly to numerous new markets, including corporate, education, worship, government, hospitality and enterprise IT.
  • “Many of our residential dealers have been moving into the commercial space in recent years, and as a result we have learned a lot about commercial installation applications, their unique requirements and their problem spots,” said Lars Granoe, URC’s vice president of sales. “Over time, we decided that we would enter the commercial market in a formal way, with problem-solving products specifically designed to excel in commercial environments. At InfoComm 09, we are stating that we are fully prepared to service the commercial marketplace. We look forward to building relationships at the show.”
