MUMBAI, INDIA--The organizer of InfoComm India 2009 has announced the cancellation of the Show amid security concerns expressed by the exhibiting companies.

Following the November terrorist attacks in Mumbai, a number of exhibitors have withdrawn their participation. The continued political tension in India has led to more concerns about possible outbreak of armed conflict and consequent directives from some governments to avoid travel in India.

"The safety of our exhibitors is our first priority, and under the current circumstances and the fact that exhibitors have to begin preparations for the show at this point in time, we have decided that this is the appropriate course of action," said Mr Richard Tan, General Manager of InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd. "However, India remains a market we are keen to establish a presence in, and we will continue to monitor the situation with a view to reinstating the Show at the earliest opportune time," he added.

InfoComm India was scheduled for March 2009 in Mumbai with participation from international pro AV brand leaders among the confirmed exhibitors. Besides India, the InfoComm event will also be held, for the second time, in Beijing, China this year. The organizer will actively promote this Show in India so that Indian enterprises keen to explore AV solutions can keep abreast with latest developments in AV technology and meet with industry leaders and experts in Beijing.
