Magenta Launches New Cyan Series of Extension Products at Screen Media Expo

  • NEW MILFORD, CT--Magenta Research announced the new Cyan by Magenta brand, a new series of signal extension products for the digital signage market.
  • Powered by technology derived from Magenta’s best-in-class commercial AV signal distribution range, Cyan by Magenta products deliver cost-effective solutions for applications requiring basic point-to-point extension over shorter distances and with smaller distribution footprints. Cyan by Magenta includes real time signal extension kits for HDMI, DVI, VGA, YUV (component), and audio.
  • “With the declining costs of displays, the use of digital signage is expanding to include simpler, lower budget installations,” said Magenta vice president Bob Michaels. “Cyan by Magenta expands Magenta’s product portfolio to include a series of products targeted towards basic signal extension requirements, while meeting the performance and quality long associated with the Magenta name.”
  • The Cyan by Magenta range includes the following products:
  • Cyan HDMI: A transmitter and receiver kit that extends uncompressed 1080p video with audio over a distance of 100ft/30m or 720p/1080i to 150ft/45m using Cat6 cabling.
  • Cyan VGA: A transmitter and receiver kit that extends UXGA (1600x1200) RGBHV video over a distance of 250ft/76m and requires no power at the receiver end.
  • Cyan DVI TX: A 4-port transmitter for 1x4 distribution of DVI-video compatible with Cyan DVI RX. Two transmitters can be cascaded to enable 1x8 distribution.
  • Cyan DVI RX: Compatible receiver for Cyan DVI TX capable of extending 1080p/1600x1200 video over a distance of 100ft/30m or 720p/1080i/1366x768 over 150ft/45m using CAT6 cabling.
  • Cyan YUV: A transmitter and receiver kit that extends 1080P YUV/Component video over a distance of 328ft/100m and requires no power at the receiver end.
  • Cyan Stereo: A transmitter and receiver kit that extends stereo audio over a distance of 2000ft/609m and requires no power.
  • All Cyan by Magenta products are plug and play with no adjustment or tuning requirements. The entire lineup is now shipping.
