AptoVision announces BlueRiver™ NT+, the world’s first chipset for true 4K/60 (4:4:4) video extension and switching

Disruptive chipset technology delivers zero frame latency transmission of 4K over IP on both cat-x and fiber

St Laurent, Quebec, Canada, June 9th, 2015 – AptoVision, a pioneer of game-changing AV chipset technology and winner of the 2014 Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ Jury’s Favourite award, today announced its new BlueRiver NT+ chipset – the world’s first and only chipset to support IP-based switching and extension of true 4K/60Hz (4:4:4) video with zero frame latency over 100m of cat-x or 30KM of fiber.

While practically all existing solutions claiming support for 4K/Ultra-HD transmission compromise either on refresh rate (30Hz at 4:4:4) or on color space (4:2:0 at 60Hz), the BlueRiver NT+ uniquely delivers true 4K quality with a refresh rate of 60Hz at the full 4:4:4 color space.

“The award winning BlueRiver NT technology has already disrupted the signal distribution market by delivering the first and only zero frame latency chipset for AV over IP,” said Kamran Ahmed, CEO and co-founder of AptoVision; “The new BlueRiver NT+ chipset extends this lead and once again raises the bar for quality and performance by delivering on the specifications needed to claim true 4K and full HDMI 2.0 support.”

The new chipset is also HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports the transmission of audio, GbE, 480Mbps USB 2.0, RS-232 & IR. Combining long range signal extension and IP-based switching with multi-video compositing, the BlueRiver NT+ replaces multiple pieces of AV equipment for AV/KVM extension, AV/KVM switching, video-wall and multi-view applications with a single AptoVision powered system. Incorporation of BlueRiver NT+ technology into AV systems can result in cost saving of over 60% for equipment and installation, millions of dollars in reduced R&D spending, and a dramatic reduction in time to market.

The new BlueRiver NT+ chipset will be showcased at AptoVision’s booth (#4381) during the Infocomm 2015 tradeshow in Orlando. Requests for a meeting or a guided demo can be sent to sales@aptovision.com.
