Shure to Support World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour 2010

  • NILES, IL--Shure Incorporated announced the Company will officially support Earth Hour 2010, a global climate event led by the World Wildlife Fund. Shure will turn off all non-essential lighting in all of the Company’s facilities around the world for one hour on March 27, 2010. The Company is encouraging all of its Associates, customers, and suppliers to do the same.
  • Shure will join corporations, organizations, governments, and individuals in U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco, with more signing up daily. They will join international cities such as Beijing, Cape Town, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Manila, Mexico City, Moscow, Rome, and Toronto to observe Earth Hour 2010, which begins at 8:30 P.M. local time.
  • “As an organization, we pride ourselves in being good corporate citizens,” said Sandy LaMantia, Shure president and CEO. “I am asking all Shure Associates to turn off their office lights before leaving work on Friday, March 26, and I am encouraging everyone to turn off their lights at home during the event. Energy efficiency is not only good for the bottom line, but we also believe that we have a responsibility to operate our business in a responsible manner and in ways that do not deplete our world’s limited natural resources.”
  • During Earth Hour 2009, hundreds of millions of people in 4,000 cities in 88 countries turned off their lights to show their support for this event.
