POP Displays (POP) has announced that Edward R. Wohlwender has been appointed its President and CEO, effective March 25, 2007. The appointment filled a vacancy created by William K. Berry who has decided to pursue other interests. POP is a manufacturer of point-of-purchase displays focused primarily on permanent displays in cosmetics and electronics for mass channel retailers.
POP has expertise in developing and implementing large, complex programs including plastic molded wall units, show cases, film bins, counter units, floor stands, kiosks, testers, and window displays, from creative design and manufacturing to warehousing and maintenance support. POP Displays has longstanding customer relationships with Maybelline, Staples, CVS Pharmacies, and L’Oreal.
POP is an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., a private investment firm specializing in leveraged buyouts and investments in market-leading companies.
Wohlwender has over 20-years experience in executive management in several large publicly-traded companies, most recently as Senior Vice President of the Operations Support Group for Technical Olympic USA, Inc., a national builder of single-family residences, town homes and condominiums. Previously, he owned and managed Value Chain Consulting, a consulting firm based in Ohio specializing in supply chain optimization. He has held senior executive roles in Standard Register Company, an integrated document solutions provider, in the consulting practice of Ernst & Young LLP, and with the Sara Lee Corporation where he led initiatives in several industries with successful results in the areas of supply chain, operations and sales.

POP Displays Expands Staff

In the past few weeks, POP Displays enhanced its front end and production capabilities with 18 new hires, eight of whom are former employees.  “With increased business from existing customers and an influx of new accounts, we moved quickly to ensure we are properly staffed to service our clients,” commented Ed Wohlwender, CEO of POP Displays. NARMS Taps Morrison

DAVACO, Inc. has announced that Gregg Morrison, vice president of product merchandising, was recently named chairperson for the NARMS 2008 Spring Conference. The National Association For Retail Marketing Services, known as NARMS International, holds the three-day educational conference, annual meeting and exhibition each spring. Virgin, Warner Home Video Launch "Pop-Up" Store

Virgin Megastore Times Square has teamed with Warner Home Video to help celebrate Warner Bros. Entertainment's 85 years of moviemaking by creating a pop-up store within a store. The cafe inside the Times Square Virgin Megastore has been transformed into a Warner Bros. 85th Anniversary Store, creating 400 feet of space dedicated to the studio's best DVDs of all time. The converted cafe houses a 'mini-movie theatre' that runs clips of Warner Bros. library of films from 1923 through present day releases. A red carpet leads Megastore customers from the store's escalator into the Anniversary Store.
