JBL Professional has announced the appointment of Jon Sager to the position of Product Manager, Engineered Sound. In his new position, Sagers responsibilities will include product development of high end install loudspeakers, along with business development. He will report directly to Ted Leamy, JBL Professionals Director of Engineered Sound.
Sagers installed sound career began at Pro Media, Hercules, California, where he specialized in live performance system design and sales, primarily for performing arts venues and clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. He went on to hold high-level market management and product development positions at Electro-Voice and Mark IV Audio, E-Vs then-parent company. Sager later joined Eastern Acoustic Works where he held the post of Director of Market Development and was instrumental in the successful development, introduction and acceptance of several loudspeaker products into the installation market. Jon comes to JBL from QSC Audio, where he was Loudspeaker Planner/Strategist.
Having been part of the pro audio world for a considerable period of time, Sager has witnessed first-hand the growth of an industry that continues to develop at a staggering pace. Todays systems are incredibly sophisticated, Sager said. With the evolution of materials which has improved loudspeaker components, the advent of DSP, and improved amplifier designs, systems today are capable of so much.
