Publish date:

Damian DiCarlo, Director of Sales for Communications Specialties Inc., died in an automobile accident on Thursday, September 16th, near his home in Orange, California. He was 34. Damian leaves behind a wife, Karen, and two children, Daniel (age 4) and Michael (age 1 1⁄2).

Damian joined Communications Specialties sales department in 1999 and, after a series of promotions, was named Director of Sales in July, 2003. In this position, Damian was responsible for supervising CSIs internal sales team, cultivating relationships throughout CSIs various distribution channels and spearheading many of the companys worldwide sales efforts. He was based out of CSIs California Sales Office.

Prior to his years at CSI, Damian enjoyed a successful career within the Professional A/V industry, including over 6 years as International Sales Manager at Inline, Inc.
CSI President and CEO, John Lopinto, expressed the view of many CSI employees in stating, We are stunned and saddened at this heart-breaking news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Damians wife and children at this time. Damian was a rare asset to his customers, his co-workers and the A/V industry. Every day we will miss him.

Damian served as a direct contact for many of CSI's international distributors and resellers. For now, these individuals should contact John Lopinto (tel: 631.273.0404) regarding any sales issues. Customers and resellers within the Asia Pacific region should continue to contact Communications Specialties Pte. Ltd. in Singapore (phone: +65 6391 8790).

Within the United States, sales will remain split between Western and Eastern regions, handled by John Hulen (tel: 714.997.2220) and Paul Seiden (tel: 813.653.1686), respectively.

Damian's family has asked that anyone wishing to send flowers should, instead, make a donation to an education fund that is being established for Daniel and Michael. More information on how to contribute to this fund will be posted to as soon as it is available.
