NARMS Taps Morrison

  • DAVACO, Inc. has announced that Gregg Morrison, vice president of product merchandising, was recently named chairperson for the NARMS 2008 Spring Conference. The National Association For Retail Marketing Services, known as NARMS International, holds the three-day educational conference, annual meeting and exhibition each spring. The 2008 event will be held April 12 -15 in Williamsburg, VA.
  • “It is an honor to be selected to oversee the 2008 conference. Plans are well underway in selecting speakers, determining relevant content and recruiting attendees,” said Morrison. “Building on the successes of past conferences, we want to assure that the NARMS spring conference continues to be a valuable forum that offers professional development, networking and industry insight.”
  • In addition to serving as the conference chairperson, Morrison also holds the position of chairperson for the Professional Installation Companies (PICsm) sub-committee of NARMS. In this role, he is responsible for leading the eight-person committee and overseeing the group’s mission to educate retailers on professional installation companies and build awareness of their capabilities. The PIC committee recently published a white paper, “Building Out the Future of Retail,” that provides documentation and analysis of the growing installation industry (visit www.narms.com for more details). The PIC committee, in conjunction with the entire NARMS membership, is currently focusing on the development of an accreditation program that will offer certification and set industry standards using criteria such as financial status, expertise, accountability and licensing.
