Crestron Intros New Line of Low Cost Presentation Solutions

  • Crestron's QuickPacks are new all-in-one presentation solutions for classrooms.
  • The company says they are simple to install and easy to use, and include all the components needed to deliver standardized, reliable classroom technology. Each QuickPack features a basic system controller with AV switching, an audio amplifier, speakers, wall plates, mounting hardware and cables. Just add the video projector, projection screen and AV sources, and the software wizard guides you through setup in minutes, no system design required.
  • There are three QuickPack systems to fit any classroom application. The QP-200 provides connectivity to a laptop and a video source, such as a DVD player; the QP-300 adds a room PC, and the QP-400 provides connectivity for two computers and two video sources. "We've made QuickPacks very easy to purchase, implement and use, and network support is built in to ensure efficient use of technical staff and resources," explains Vincent Bruno, Crestron Director of Marketing. "For the ultimate in simplicity, RoomView Connected projectors connect instantly and are interchangeable, requiring no setup or configuration."

QuickPacks provide safe and secure communication with free Crestron RoomView help desk software, a comprehensive, facility-wide solution for remote monitoring and asset management. AV managers can remotely monitor and manage classroom technology from any connected PC or laptop, with capabilities including tracking usage, monitoring lamp life, scheduling maintenance - even taking control to resolve technical issues - as well as receiving instant notification of service reminders, device failure or removal.

RoomView also features built-in broadcast messaging for emergencies or daily announcements. Send an alert, quick reminder or messages to any projector on the school network to immediately notify teachers in the classroom. Alternatively, classroom instructors can send instant messages to other rooms or the main office with a simple click of the mouse.

To save energy and lower costs, RoomView can be used to automatically shut down projectors at the end of the day, or an occupancy sensor can trigger shutdowns after a room has been vacant for a period of time.
