Almo: Samsung’s Specialty Distributor of Year

We get dozens of press releases per week about so-and-so company being named a manufacturer’s “distributor of the year”,or distributor of the month, or announcing the 1st anniversary of the redesign of a distributor’s website… you get the idea.

But this announcement is different. Learning that Almo was named Samsung’s Specialty Distributor of Year, is not a routine announcement. Why? Because Almo was not even an AV distributor 14months ago. In fact, the only thing I can compare the rise of Almo in this industry to, is, well, the rise of Samsung in the commercial AV market. Remember when Samsung came out of nowhere… and it seemed liked from one InfoComm to the next (what, eight or so years back?), they had more flat panels in a single InfoComm booth than all the heavyweights that had been in the market for years. (Alan Brawn can take credit for a lot of that rise, when he headed the AV display division at Samsung.)

So, hats off to Sam Taylor and team at Almo, for ramping up their “Speciality” distribution, not just for Samsung, but for a lot of top-shelf display products… that speciality would be of course, digital signage, as well as the InfoComm market in general.
