Stampede Consolidates Headquarters, Distribution Center in New Location

AMHERST, NY--Stampede has leased a new 44,000-square-foot facility in Amherst, NY, where it will consolidate the company’s corporate headquarters, (currently in Depew, NY) and its main distribution center (currently in Grand Island, NY).

  • “We have been looking for the right opportunity to put our headquarters and distribution center under one roof,” said Kevin Kelly, Stampede president and COO. “This Amherst facility is a great solution for us and will ensure better collaboration between sales and operations as we continue our unprecedented growth and expansion.”
  • A few of the key features included in Stampede’s new space include: a wall of windows that will make the warehouse viewable from the sales floor; technology to simplify remote training and communication with the company’s new field sales offices; enhanced employee, supplier and customer training facilities; additional conference space, a better warehouse layout and room to accommodate future growth; and an employee picnic area, gym and shower facilities.

The new facility’s location in Amherst, a suburb about 15 miles northeast of Buffalo, is still close to the Buffalo/Niagara International Airport and the company’s Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, ON. Since it is equidistant from the company’s two current NY facilities and close to an interstate highway, the new location will have a minimal impact on the commute times of Stampede’s Buffalo-area employees.

Stampede’s move to the new facility begins this week, with the distribution center to be fully transitioned to the Amherst location by July 27, 2009. The build-out of the 10,000-square-foot office space and move of corporate headquarters is expected to be complete by late September.
