ETCP Rigging Exam Deadline Extended

  • Due to overwhelming interest, the ETCP Council has voted to extend the application deadline for the first ETCP rigging examinations (arena and theatre) to September 1, 2005. Both exams will be held on Saturday, November 12th in conjunction with the ETS-LDI tradeshow.
  • Riggers who pass these rigorous tests will become ETCP Certified Riggers—and will be recognized as the industry's best. Candidates who pass the examinations in November 2005 will be acknowledged as the only members of the "Class of 2005" on the ETCP website and will be the first ETCP Certified Riggers in North America. Take advantage of this opportunity to join your peers in the "Class of 2005."
  • In a recent survey of industry employers, 81 percent said they would encourage employees or personnel working in their venues to seek certification in rigging. This finding shows that employers want an objective tool that helps them assess riggers' skills. ETCP Certification provides that tool, helping employers immediately identify riggers with proven capabilities. ETCP also helps the riggers themselves by giving them a credential—ETCP Certified—that unmistakably says, "I know what I'm doing."
  • If you're a rigger, get ready to show the industry what you know. Learn more about ETCP certification by visiting etcp.esta.org, calling 212.244.1505 or e-mailing certification@esta.org.
