SMART Now Offers Online Training In Five Languages

CALGARY, CANADA--SMART Technologies' free online training is now available to SMART customers in five languages, and toll-free access is available in more than 70 countries around the world. More than 15,000 English-speaking teachers and corporate users have received training on SMART products through the online training since it became available four years ago. To better serve its growing global customer base, SMART has expanded its training service from English only to English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.

Implementing these languages across an extensive range of training sessions gives SMART the most comprehensive and accessible online training program in the interactive whiteboard product category. Education and corporate customers in Zurich, Paris or Mexico City can, for example, learn how to get started with their SMART Board interactive whiteboard in their own language.
SMART online training sessions are conducted via telephone and SMART's own Bridgit conferencing software. They offer a quick 30- to 60-minute, no-cost overview of SMART products. The sessions are delivered by trainers who use SMART products every day. Each week 45 sessions are offered on a dozen topics, including introductions to the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, Sympodium interactive pen display, AirLiner wireless slate and Senteo interactive response system. In addition, SMART leads the education market segment with specialized sessions on creating interactive lesson activities with SMART Notebook collaborative learning software.

"With SMART online training sessions, my level of understanding is reaching beyond anything I could have ever anticipated," says Dan Robinson, mathematics teacher Peekskill Middle School, New York. "The SMART training sessions have given me many unique teaching ideas, so the possibilities of how I use SMART products have multiplied exponentially."

"We know the importance of providing our customers with convenient, instructor-led training," says Nancy Knowlton, SMART's CEO. "As the adoption of our products accelerates in classrooms and meeting rooms around the world, we want to ensure that our customers have quick, easy access to free training when they need it, it's part of our service commitment and part of what makes us different from our competitors."
