Hall Research Introduces All-In-One UTP Console Extender

  • Hall Research announces the release of the U97-ULTRA, an All-in-One UTP Console Extender with unparalleled capabilities. This extender is used to send dual-screen video, stereo audio, RS-232, and up to three independent USB ports from a PC to a remote location 500 feet away over standard CATx twisted-pair cables. Local outputs for the A/V signals and USB ports are provided on the sender so that the system can be accessed automatically from 2 locations.
  • The remote receiver unit provides digitally controlled high-frequency compensation and RGB skew correction for both video heads and features line-level as well as amplified audio outputs for driving passive speakers directly.
  • The Model U97-Ultra includes built-in video test pattern generator which enables the user to precisely adjust and verify the video alignment without any external test equipment or video sources.
  • Other features include EDID (Extended Display ID) support, internal power supplies, and up to 3 separate and independent USB extensions. One of the USB channels provides a 2-port hub at the sender and a 4 port hub at the receiver, while the others are "direct" extensions completely transparent to the PC. Having more than one USB connection to the PC allows the user to separate bandwidth hungry USB devices, such as printers, data recorders, or other high-speed units from lower speed human-interface or burst mode USB devices.
  • The U97-ULTRA combines the functions of Hall Research Models U97-H2, UU2X4, SKU-RGB, the DVC-3 in a compact easy to install package. “The U97-ULTRA brings together several of our products into one powerful and convenient package” says Ali Haghjoo, CEO. “It was designed for high-reliability high-demand applications such as health-care, data center, or trading floor installations" continued Haghjoo.
