Pharos announces an agreement to cooperate with MCI-Broadcast, one of Germany's leading broadcast systems integrators. MCI-Broadcast, based in Hamburg, will offer German broadcasters and transmission service providers an end-to-end consultancy, design, integration and support package for the Pharos Mediator, Playtime and Pilot range of solutions.

"Pharos has as an excellent reputation for innovative and reliable broadcast systems," comments MCI-Broadcast's Max Below. "They also have an impressive customer base around the world who rely on Pharos solutions 24/7, including major corporations such as Red Bee Media, BBC World Service and B Sky B in the UK with NOB in Holland and CNN in the USA. Pharos has kept pace with some of the best third-party IT and broadcast technology for over 10 years now and the introduction of Mediator V3 unifies many previously disparate third party systems and workflow processes. Their unique X-Y architecture, new blade server and Oracle, combined with the most straightforward web-based desktop interface available, makes a powerful platform for our customers. We now aim to bring Pharos expertise to the German market with the launch of Mediator V3 to complement the well-established Pharos Playtime automation and Pilot desktop control systems."

"MCI-Broadcast is a well-respected systems integrator and technology supplier," adds Pharos director of marketing Russell Grute. "Our integrated solutions for desktop control, automation, and media asset management are great tools for integrators to deliver a wide range of systems. Mediator V3 with integral Playtime automation harmonises ingest, post-production, storage management, browse, and playout operations. It provides the flexibility essential to handling multi-language, HD, SD, IPTV and interactive video-on-demand from an enterprise-class IT platform incorporating Oracle 10g running on a latest-generation blade server platform."
