Altinex Adds Price Diversity to Showtime AV Line

Altinex has introduced four new Showtime AV Presentation Systems: the Showtime System 800, Showtime System 900, Showtime System 1100, and Showtime System 1200. These new offerings—two entry level and two intermediate—let school districts to take advantage of the features and benefits of the Altinex Showtime capabilities while operating within today’s budgets.

  • Altinex Showtime AV Presentation Systems make the process of using audio-visual equipment in the classroom easy and intuitive. The companies say that the comprehensive, turnkey AV solutions are designed to provide educators with a powerful, yet affordable, multimedia-rich classroom experience. By making two entry-level and two intermediate systems available, Altinex now affords educators the opportunity to integrate existing equipment—such as loudspeakers—into their AV presentation setups, thereby eliminating any duplication of equipment and minimizing expenses in the process. Most importantly, all four new systems are field upgradable to larger setups with additional subassembly purchases, enabling school districts to maximize their AV investment as finances permit.

With the new Showtime 800/900 entry-level systems, Altinex provides two means of acquiring the “bare essentials” of a modern AV presentation system. These packages include the Showtime controller, a VGA/Audio input wall plate, a Composite Video/Audio input wall plate (System 900 only), and an interface box. Switching occurs at the projector. Audio is handled by the projector or by a secondary amplifier but is controlled via RS-232 through the controller. As with all Showtime systems, all system components communicate and are powered through low cost UTP/Cat-5 cable.

The Altinex intermediate packages (Showtime 1100/1200) are integrator models and provide the essential electronics while forgoing the loudspeakers, most cabling, sensors, and accessories that are provided in the company’s larger systems. Both the Showtime 1100 and 1200 systems include the Showtime controller, a switcher, a VGA/Audio input wall plate, a Composite Video/Audio input wall plate (System 1200 only), and select cables. Both packages also provide a 30 watt amplifier as well as a line level audio output—facilitating seamless integration with existing loudspeaker systems. Additional features of these intermediate systems include automatic signal sensing, IR (infrared) projector control, and the ability to raise/lower the projection screen. Further, the Showtime 1100 and 1200 systems also incorporate Altinex’ popular Room Combine feature, enabling two Showtime systems in adjacent rooms (such as a partitioned multipurpose room) to be operated independently as separate and discreet systems or joined together so one system controls both rooms and shares source devices.
