SAN Solutions will be debuting the company's new ArtiSAN Storage Platform and ArtiSAN Application Platform to the European market during IBC2010. Both products extend SAN Solutions' ability to offer best-of-breed solutions at a price point for every budget. When coupled with a network storage infrastructure, the two platforms allow facilities to achieve a complete file-based workflow.

"The ArtiSAN Storage Platform and ArtiSAN Application Platform address the need for flexible, reliable, high-performance storage infrastructures in media companies of all sizes," said Harry Aine, SAN Solutions president. "Our high-end systems have been installed at some of the largest media production and content distribution facilities, and these new ArtiSAN systems leverage the same best-of-breed technologies to support the demanding production work taken on by smaller media operations."

Designed for small workgroup media production environments, the new ArtiSAN Storage Platform offers a truly advanced feature set found in all SAN Solutions' implementations. The new ArtiSAN Storage Platform is available in a 2RU, 24 drive bay configuration for an impressive 24TB capacity, as well as a 3RU, 16 drive bay configuration for 32TB capacity. All RAID formats are supported including RAID5 and RAID6. The ArtiSAN Storage Platform offers enterprise-class features such as 8 by 8 Gb Fibre Channel host ports, global hot-sparing, dual redundant power supplies, automatic call-home break-fix repair, and three-year, 24/7 on-site support plans.

Available in a compact 1RU or 2RU enclosure, the new ArtiSAN Application Platform is a specifically customized configuration that is ideal for most file-based workflow media applications. The various models of optimized Application Platforms available include transcoding engines, digital disk recorders, media WAN acceleration distribution engines, media content verification and indexing engines, management servers with topology discovery, virtual tape libraries, enterprise search engines, and broadcast compliance engines. Any of the Application Platform configurations can be deployed as a stand-alone unit or integrated within small workgroup or large enterprise SAN or NAS environments.

Both the ArtiSAN Storage and ArtiSAN Application Platforms are available in Europe through SAN Solutions Europe BV and its channel partners, and will be featured during IBC2010 at the SAN Solutions stand 13.C31.
