CLEARWATER, FL--Tech Data Corporation announced an expansion of its distribution partnership with Hitachi Software Engineering America to include the manufacturer’s StarBoard interactive whiteboards. These products are available through Tech Data’s Digital Signage and Projectors Specialized Business Unit (SBU).
“Tech Data’s Digital Signage and Projectors SBU continues to diversify its product offering, providing resellers with access to the latest solutions and connecting more vendors to the channel partners they need to grow their businesses,” said Tech Data vice president, peripherals product marketing Wendy Linsky. “The addition of Hitachi StarBoards is timely since we are anticipating the first spending opportunities from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to emerge soon.”
The modernization of schools, government buildings and other public facilities is expected to be one of ARRA’s IT spending priorities. Presentation solutions incorporating interactive digital whiteboards enhance learning environments in classrooms, aid courtroom demonstrations and help facilitate and more accurately document public policy discussion. Digital whiteboards also have broad application in the private sector, from small offices to large corporate boardrooms.
“We selected Tech Data as our only broadline distributor because of their extensive experience in the projector and digital presentation space,” said Ray Soltys, director of sales, Hitachi Home Electronics, (America), Inc., Business Group. “Partnering with a leader like Tech Data will enable us to expand our reseller base and grow our business through the channel, especially by targeting IT spending opportunities expected to result from the economic stimulus bill.”
