Acquire Digital Multimedia, New Software

  • Acquire Digital Multimedia has announced the release of the latest version of the Acquire Premier digital signage software platform. Software version updates often go unnoticed but this one includes an API which will enable users to create their own digital signage solution.

So what does this mean in layperson’s terms? Well, for example, if you want to develop your own web based SaaS (Software as a Service) solution then you simply use the Acquire Editor on your web server, produce a web-based front-end and use the API to link the powerful Acquire system to it.

A key advantage of Acquire’s design is that it is a plug-in based platform. With access to the API, users can now write their own plug-ins (called ACQs and Helpers). Other access functions include; the ability to create pages and playlists; the invoking of content deployments and the production of proof of play-out and other reports. There are also web-based functions so that you can make your own scheduling system. You can create icons for any compatible media type, and preview all media – graphics, video, Flash (videos transcoded to Flash Video so they can be viewed in the browser). There are even functions to integrate with support ticketing systems. But there is much more besides.

"Over the past ten years we have been building the Acquire brand and continually developing the platform so that it is capable of running virtually any size of network."

Over the past 18 months we have been expanding our international sales channel and consequently have been fielding an increasing amount of requests for a White Label product," commented Neil Farr - MD of Acquire Digital Multimedia. "Therefore, we feel that the time is right for us to release this API so that users can present their own branded digital signage offering to their specific market segment.”

Acquire’s proven platform, with over 15,000 players installed worldwide, is now available for you to rebrand, modify, and enhance to suit own application.
