Biamp Vocia Renewal Credits at InfoComm

InfoComm International has approved Biamp’s Vocia Certification Training for Certified Technology Specialists (CTS) credential renewal credits. Vocia is a new networked media system designed for facilities that vary in size and AV needs such as university and hospital campuses and transportation facilities.

InfoComm International requires a total of 30 renewal units (RUs) every three years to retain a CTS, CTS-D or CTS-I credential. By successfully completing Vocia Certification Training, AV professionals will earn eight renewal units while learning how to design and implement Vocia advanced networked paging and voice evacuation systems.

“High-quality training is a crucial component of success for AV professionals,” said Greg Vincent, Consultant at Communications Design Associates. “I completed Vocia certification to gain knowledge and best practices for designing this new system into demanding environments around the world. Receiving InfoComm International renewal units for Vocia training is a valuable bonus that helps me manage my limited time between projects.”

Biamp Systems began offering Vocia Certification Training in October 2009 at the Beaverton, Oregon headquarters. Training consists of a two-day course offered on site in Beaverton in the company’s Learning Center, and globally in Amsterdam, Mumbai and Bangkok. To date, more than 75 professionals have successfully completed the training program.

“We are quite pleased that InfoComm International has recognized Vocia Certification Training as a valuable resource for AV industry professionals,” said Ron Camden, Vice President of North American Sales at Biamp Systems. “Biamp is committed to world-class training to empower AV professionals with the knowledge they need to harness the full potential of our systems and expand their pool of prospective customers. The fact Vocia training also counts towards continuing education is a bonus.”

InfoComm International’s CTS, CTS-D, and CTS-I credentials are the only AV certifications that are third-party accredited by ANSI to the ISO/IEC 17024 personnel standard.
